Trying to grow old gracefully, but it's not working.

With every waking day, my 43 year old eyes discover one new wrinkle, one less eyelash and one more gray hair. "What  is happening?"  you ask yourself.
Well, each day brings new changes to our reflection in that mirror.
Who is that person I see?   Fortunately with wrinkles come wisdom and with wisdom comes a new found courage to keep going.  Looking deeper into yourself, you discover there is more to that face and wrinkle.
A security in yourself and your talents, whatever they may be.
You are less scared.  Less insecure.
So, Celebrate that wisdom and security.
Because after all, we know more now.  We are Mothers, Managers, Chefs and Nurses.  We are Accountants and Psychiatrists.   As a Mother we do all these things.  So go.  Go grow old with grace.  Show us what you are all about.
Do what you do to the best of your knowledge.  Be the best you can be.
You owe that to yourself.  Growing old doesn't mean defeat.
It doesn't mean to give up.  Grow old with grace and style and love every minute.

Snow Dances change to Spring Surprises...

As the weather changes from cold and brisk to warm and rainy, we are reminded of those warm nights spent by the fire. These nights will soon become a night out under the stars spent gazing at the moon while the little ones try to catch fireflies.

You Stole My Heart

This is a piece I did for a City Folk Gallery.  Wonderful store in Lancaster PA.  It was inspired
by the loss of a friend.  She died very young and
very suddenly.  Life goes on for the ones that are
left behind :)

Snow Dances

I know, I know, no more snow.  I understand, but snow is magical
and I do love it.  Looking forward to spring for sure!  This is a
re-design  that I did using the book Snow Dance.  This book is written
by Lezlie Evans.  Wonderful picture book by Scholastic.  Hope you
enjoy the illustrations.

Hello all!  Spring is coming and we are ready!  Bring it on.  Here are a few images from the spring line of limited edition, embellished cards.  Very excited to be in the studio creating again.  The time has come to add one of these to your home.  Home?  Well, the cards are designed to frame and hang when you are done with them.  How many times have you thrown away a wonderful card that you recieved in the mail?  Not again!
They make a wonderful piece of art! Happy Spring!

Say goodbye to snow!

I do believe the time has come to "turn off the snow button."  It is time
to see green again people.  With this new change in the weather comes
a new vision at Allison Weaver Studio.  It's time to do some new marketing
to target potential illustration jobs.  For myself, I have been in denial.  I told
myself that the market is bad and what else should I expect?  Well, enough of that.
I am working feverishly trying to complete new work that will catch the eye of
any potential clients.  So, this is it.  Off to the studio and back to work!

Good morning all.  Home sick today with my son.
Thought a "thinking of you" image was appropriate.
Getting ready for the holidays and ready to jump on the
crazy train for the next 2 months.  Before we know it
we will be waking up for Christmas Morning...
Have a wonderful day all!
